Xander
A scientist in the R&D department at the Voss Campus who approached Ronnie through Eric (the mess hall cook) to conduct a black-market sale. He produced a foil-wrapped object — a shielded, drained meteorite fragment — and offered it for $10,000. Ronnie negotiated him down to a 7% cut of whatever Ronnie could eventually sell it for. The foil shielding prevents tracking.
After the deal, Xander checked a time-sensitive message on his phone and departed quickly. The urgency suggests he may be operating under pressure — either from a deadline, a buyer, or someone watching him.
Session 03 Update
Upon the team’s return to Voss Campus, Ronnie spoke with Xander to settle the deal. The Potato having sold for $500,000, Xander received his 7% cut: $35,000.
Session 05 Update
Ronnie encountered Xander in the corridor en route to the briefing room. Xander was visibly disturbed after receiving a phone call — Ronnie caught a glimpse of a Chinese area code (+86) on his phone screen before Xander quickly dismissed it. Xander handed Ronnie another spent meteor fragment to trade to Igor at their next meeting, then hurried away.
The Chinese area code is significant: three Chinese submarines were subsequently found at the exact coordinates of the deep-sea fragment sites. This strongly suggests Xander is passing intelligence about fragment locations to Chinese military or intelligence contacts.
