Deep Sea Fragment Retrieval

Summary

The PC team deployed via mini-submarine into the North Atlantic to retrieve three meteor fragments at varying depths. Team Jenkins handled the shallowest fragment (50m). The PCs retrieved the second fragment (100m) after destroying a Chinese submarine, then recovered the third from near a massive Giant Anglerfish that had already destroyed one of two Chinese subs at the site.

Details

Adrian Voss briefed both teams on the mission: three fragments from the Second Meteor Event had landed in the North Atlantic at increasing depths moving eastward. Team Jenkins (Jenkins, Miller, Thompson, Brittany) took the first fragment at 50 meters. The PC team flew six hours to a ship in the Atlantic and deployed in a two-person-operated mini-sub with beam turrets and mechanical retrieval arms.

Second fragment (100m): The team detected a Chinese submarine near the fragment. Guy grabbed the fragment with the mechanical arms as the Chinese sub launched a torpedo. Ronnie’s evasive piloting dodged it. Sammy destroyed the enemy sub’s turret with a beam shot, then the team systematically tore the hull apart until ocean pressure imploded it. Six Chinese crew evacuated in environmental suits.

Third fragment (deeper): Two more Chinese subs and a massive biological signature. A Giant Anglerfish with a hypnotic bioluminescent lure was lurking behind the Chinese vessels. Jens was completely mesmerized by the lure. Ronnie dove past the enemies, Guy grabbed the fragment. The anglerfish bit through one Chinese sub’s rear section, then charged the party’s vessel. Sammy shot it in the eye, driving it off. The remaining Chinese sub was crippled.

The team surfaced with one charged fragment and one spent fragment, flew back to Voss Campus, and turned everything over.
