Second Meteor Event

Date 2019-05-04 Location Voss Campus
Outcome: NATO sweep recovered 5 fragments (2 active, 3 inert). 3 remain in North Atlantic. Jenkins' team suffered casualties in Russia. Ronnie gained fragment powers.

Summary

NASA detected a second meteor — larger than the first — expected to break up in the atmosphere and scatter fragments across a wide area. Adrian Voss convened a mission briefing at Voss Campus and formed two recovery teams: Team 1 led by Guy LeFleur (with Ronnie Vint, Sammy Castaneda, and Jens Hartmann), and Team 2 led by Major Jenkins (with Lt. Nash Miller). Both teams were dispatched. The recovery mission is pending.

Details

The second meteor is larger than the object that triggered the original Meteor Event and is expected to behave differently on atmospheric entry: rather than arriving as a single mass, it will break up and scatter fragments across a dispersed impact zone. This changes the recovery calculus significantly — multiple sites, wider search area, greater logistical complexity.

Adrian Voss responded by splitting Voss Dynamics’ operational assets into two teams, each capable of independent action:

Team 1

Team 2

The briefing took place at Voss Campus. Both teams received their assignments from Adrian Voss directly. The teams have been dispatched; the active recovery phase of the mission has not yet played out as of Session 03.

Context: The first meteor was the origin point of the Voss Dynamics portal programme — whatever that object contained or triggered opened the path to Terra. A second, larger meteor arriving so soon after has obvious implications that no one at the briefing is ignoring.

Participants

Recovery Mission (Session 04)

The recovery operation played out across six locations:

  1. Greenland: The Dragon intercepted a falling fragment bare-handed, was affected by an energy discharge, dropped the inert fragment, and flew away. Team recovered it.
  2. Iceland: Ronnie Vint touched a fragment with his bare hand, absorbing its energy and leaving the fragment inert. He later manifested energy-draining abilities.
  3. Norway: Ronnie’s Voss Combat Suit was remotely locked down by command after he went rogue toward the fragment. Fragment recovered by Guy LeFleur.
  4. Sweden: Uneventful recovery under local authority supervision.
  5. Russia: Major Jenkins’ team suffered casualties from a Fragment BearAndrews KIA, Thompson’s suit corroded. PC team parachuted in, killed the bear (C4/Claymore ambush by Sammy Castaneda, beheading by Ronnie Vint, incineration by Guy LeFleur). Fragment recovered by Jens Hartmann.
  6. Base debriefing: 2 active + 3 inert fragments turned over. 3 fragments remain in the North Atlantic. Suit upgrades from fragment material in development.

Outcome & Consequences

  • Both teams dispatched to recovery zones.
  • Mission outcome not yet resolved as of Session 03.
  • The larger size and fragmentation pattern of the second meteor raises the stakes relative to the first event.
  • The parallel team structure introduces Major Jenkins and Lt. Nash Miller as significant new operational contacts.
