Calcutta Confirmation
documentary
high (intercepted correspondence)
Party (via intelligence chain)
Description
A letter from Acharya_Devendra_Ghosh addressed to Herzfeld, recovered from his correspondence in Session 12. The letter confirms Calcutta as an active ritual city and references “the Hugli bends inland” — a geographical marker pointing to the ritual site. This is the primary campaign-bridge clue connecting Vienna (Chapter 3) to Calcutta (Chapter 4).
Three Clue Rule Assessment
Currently a single-source clue. For Chapter 4 prep, backup delivery paths should be established:
- Herzfeld’s office documents (if the party searches during the University assault)
- Der Kantor’s correspondence (if Munich coordination intelligence is captured)
- Harcourt’s Order intelligence network (independent confirmation)
Status
Delivered in Session 12. The party has the letter. Chapter 4 prep should ensure at least two additional independent paths to the same conclusion.
Relationships
- Identifies Acharya Devendra Ghosh — Ghosh is the Calcutta cell contact writing to Herzfeld
- Locates Mandir Mahakali — The letter references the ritual site
