Silkweavers Guild Assault

Date July 12, 1814 Location Silkweavers_Guild|Silkweavers' Guild, Lyon
Outcome: Savarin killed. Chakota destroyed. Fouchard killed. Choir rescued. Fourvière ritual prevented. Marina Garrick and Delaroche killed.

Overview

The climactic assault on the Silkweavers’ Guild — the final battle of Chapter 2. The party launched a two-pronged attack on Savarin’s headquarters, destroying the Chakota, killing Savarin, rescuing the surgically altered children’s choir, and preventing the Fourvière ritual entirely. Two more PCs died: Marina_Garrick and Delaroche.

The Two-Pronged Assault

Delaroche and his police entered from the front door, fighting Blue Sashes at barricades. The rest of the party and Moreau’s veterans descended through the sewers to the “Practice” door — mapped during earlier tunnel expeditions. They took out two guards, picked the lock, and entered the cellar.

Delaroche’s Death

Delaroche died trying to scale a barricade — a Blue Sash behind it cut him down. Phil’s second character lost in a single chapter.

The Cellar

Ciimba charged from the darkness. Emma fled screaming (her phobia of children crystallised). Charlotte was bitten. Marina was chewed on. Charlotte fled into the tunnels, got lost, and encountered the Silent Nun. She eventually found “Plan” — Savarin’s HQ — and recovered intelligence pointing to Herzfeld in Vienna.

The Chakota

The Chakota was unleashed. The party retreated. Moreau’s veterans fell back and prepared a volley. Marina waited at the corner with lantern oil and matches. The Chakota squeezed around the bend. Marina’s mind shattered — she thought Moreau was attacking her. She lunged at him. He grabbed her and spun her into the Chakota’s mass. The creature began folding around her. Marina lit the oil and her gunpowder. The explosion killed her and the Chakota both — body parts and ichor spraying the tunnel walls. Moreau barely survived the blast.

Savarin’s Death

Savarin came around the corner behind the Chakota, ready to deploy her spells. The veterans were waiting. Their volley killed her instantly.

Fouchard’s Death

Fouchard died when the party regrouped and entered the cellar to rescue the surgically altered children’s choir.

Aftermath

The choir was rescued. The Fourvière ritual was prevented entirely. Lyon’s cell of the Aeternum_Choir was destroyed.

Campaign Significance

The climax of Chapter 2. Marina’s self-sacrifice — detonating herself to kill the Chakota — is a defining campaign moment. Charlotte’s discovery of the Vienna intelligence in Savarin’s HQ provides the narrative bridge to Chapter 3. Four PC deaths total in the Lyon chapter: Augustus, Jacob, Delaroche, and Marina.
