Revelations of Glaaki
tome
Current Holder: Georgiana_Wentworth
Origin: Order of St. Aelfric library; English translation from earlier cult-adjacent sources
Physical Description
A mid-18th century English translation bound in worn dark leather. Approximately 400 pages, quarto format. Heavily annotated in Georgiana’s own hand across the margins — pencil and ink, different sessions. A few pages are loose and held in place with ribbon bookmarks.
Function
An in-world reference grimoire catalogue that describes a wide variety of Mythos entities, their physical characteristics, associated phenomena, and occasionally fragmentary ritual context. For the Order’s investigators, it functions as a field identification guide — not a ritual manual, but the first place to look when something inhuman has shown up.
Known Uses in Play
- Session 6 (Nightgaunt attack on Palais Kinsky): Georgiana_Wentworth identifies the attacking creature as a Nightgaunt from the Revelations’s description. This identification shapes the party’s tactical response in the moment and the longer-term understanding that the Harmonic_Engine has extradimensional reach.
Narrative Weight
- Always on Georgiana’s person. This is her thing — the book defines her competence as the party’s Mythos analyst.
- Incurs standard Cthulhu Mythos tome costs when read for research (SAN loss, skill gain) per CoC 7e rules. Keeper should track if Georgiana studies the tome in a downtime scene.
Relationships
- Carried by Georgiana Wentworth — Georgiana's field reference for Mythos identification
- Identifies Nightgaunt — Used in Session 6 to identify the creature attacking Palais Kinsky
- Sourced from Order of St Aelfric — Loaned from the Order's reference library
