Antique Detonator
Current Holder: Guy LeFleur
Origin: Gold and Silver Pawn Shop
Summary
A vintage plunger-style blasting machine — the classic “Wile E. Coyote” detonator — purchased by Guy LeFleur from the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop during the team’s Vegas leave. Despite its age, the device is fully functional and capable of detonating explosives.
Details
The Antique Detonator is a classic plunger-box blasting machine of the type familiar from old cartoons and Hollywood westerns. It predates modern electronic detonation systems by several decades (TL 6), but it works, and for Guy LeFleur that was more than enough justification. He spotted it in the pawn shop and bought it on the spot for $2,000 — no deliberation required.
Its appeal is presumably a combination of the practical (it detonates things) and the aesthetic (it looks exactly like it should). Whether Guy has a specific use in mind or simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity is unclear.
Game Notes: Functions as a standard electrical blasting machine for detonating wired explosive charges. GM may apply penalties or flavour rolls for connecting it to modern TL 8–9 detonation circuits.
