Engine Beneath University

Description

The Harmonic_Engine is installed in a sealed anatomical theatre beneath the medical wing of the University_of_Vienna. The theatre is an Enlightenment-era facility, sealed roughly twenty years ago after “incidents” (per Brotherhood records), quietly reopened two years ago by Herzfeld for “acoustic research.” The chamber is carved into limestone, with walls etched in harmonic inscriptions designed to amplify resonance.

What It Reveals

• The ritual site is fixed. The Brotherhood cannot move the Engine — it is structurally integrated into the theatre, and the theatre’s acoustic geometry is load-bearing for the ritual.
• Access is via the University. The party must enter through university property. Security during normal hours is academic — guards are students and faculty. Security during ritual preparation (August 14–15) will be Brotherhood muscle.
• The chamber is a “harmonic well” — the sealed structure concentrates sound. This makes the site exquisitely vulnerable to acoustic counter-attack (see A432Hz_Engine_Resonance).
• Entry options:
  • Main University entrance — heavily trafficked, highly visible, daylight-only realistically
  • A side entrance with a key held by Adler (per Anna’s testimony; see below)
  • Possibly other service entrances used by the Bauer brothers for body deliveries

This clue is confirmed by multiple independent sources:

1. Session 2 (August 4, late night): Wilhelm_Brenner reveals the Engine’s existence and location to Varrio shortly before being killed by him. Brenner describes: “The Engine exists beneath the University medical wing — a machine made of human body parts. The soprano is Adler’s target. The ritual is August 15, midnight.” (Single source, now dead.)
2. Session 5 (morning of August 7): Trautmannsdorff’s confession corroborates Brenner’s testimony — same location, same description, more detail about Engine operation. Two independent sources; very high confidence.
3. Session 8 (evening of August 8): Honoria confirms the location via Order intelligence sources. Three independent sources.

Further confirmation is available via:

• Anna_Lindqvist (post-rescue testimony): she has heard “screaming from beneath the University” during her training with Adler, and she knows Adler has a key to a side entrance. This is a fourth independent source, physical-sensory.
• Underworld rumours via Nell_Coker: heavy crates with chemical smells delivered to the University at odd hours by men who “would cut your throat for watching.” (Consistent with Brotherhood body-procurement via the Bauer brothers.)
